New Tariff Applicable from: 02 April 2013
Royal Mail announced its annual stamp price rises in early March and they took effect from 2 April 2013. The rate for 1st class stamps is no longer subject to control by the official government regulator (Ofcom) and Royal Mail have been allowed to raise the price of 2nd class mail well above the rate of inflation.
Royal Mail also announced that the price of 1st and 2nd class letters will remain unchanged at 60p and 50p; the price of Large Letters also remains unchanged at all weight-steps. The inland 'Signed For' fee rises from 95p to £1.10 and two new stamps issued branded ROYAL MAIL SIGNED FOR instead of Recorded Signed For.
78p - Orchid mauve (Surface Mail - the basic 20g rate increases from 77p)
88p - Amber- yellow
£1.88 - Sapphire blue (Worldwide 40g letter rate is reduced from £1.90)
1st Signed For Flame with Yellow Flash
1st Large Signed For Flame with Yellow Flash
Country Definitives:
88p - (airmail rate for worldwide postcards, 10g letters Worldwide and 20g letters to Europe increased from 87p)
Updated value for one existing stamp for each country issued.
